Privacy
What Current keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it. Updated 24 October 2026.
Who we are
Current is made by Jelmer Borst, in the Netherlands, who is responsible for your data. Write to privacy@oncurrent.app about anything on this page.
What we keep
Your account: the name, email address and picture from signing in with Google, and what you add to your profile (a title, a phone number).
What you make in Current: workspaces, projects, messages, pages, comments, files you attach, reactions and the agent chats you share there, with who wrote what and when.
Your devices: which Macs and phones you use Current on, and the token a phone needs for notifications.
What you connect: when you connect Slack, Linear, Gong, Notion or HubSpot to a workspace, what they send to Current for it (messages, issues, call transcripts, pages, companies). For a cloud agent, the GitHub and Claude Code sign-ins it works with.
How Current is used: events like "Message sent" or "Project created", with ids for you, your workspace and project, and crash reports. Never what you wrote or named.
What stays on your Mac
Your GitHub, Linear and Google sign-ins for the Mac app, your code, and the agents running in it. Meetings are transcribed on the Mac: the audio never leaves it and is deleted once the transcript is saved; only the text is kept in your workspace.
Agents run with the AI provider you connect (like Claude Code or Codex), on your own account with them, under their terms. Current doesn’t send your work to an AI provider of its own.
Why
To run Current for you and the people you work with (what we agreed when you signed up), to send notifications you asked for, and to keep it working and make it better (our legitimate interest, for the usage events and crash reports). We don’t sell your data, show ads or use it to train AI models.
Who else handles it
Supabase stores the database and files, in the EU. Cloudflare serves this site and the app downloads. Amplitude keeps the usage events, in the EU.
Google (sign-in and Android notifications), Apple (iPhone notifications) and Expo (which passes notifications to both) see what a notification says. boxd runs cloud agents when you start one. The services you connect see what goes to and from them.
Some of these are in the US. Where your data leaves the EU, it goes under the EU’s standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Who sees it
The people in your workspace see what you write there, your profile, and your email address and phone number. We look at your data only to help when you ask, or to keep Current safe and working.
How long
As long as you have an account. Deleting it removes your account, profile, devices and connections; what you wrote in a workspace others still use stays for them without your name. Backups roll over within 30 days. See deleting your account.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it: write to privacy@oncurrent.app, and we answer within a month. If you think we got it wrong, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or the one where you live.
Children
Current is for work, and not for anyone under 16.
